Biostimulating LED treatment LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a light source that has become familiar even in everyday life. What is a little less known still is the skincare side of it. LED technology has been studied extensively, and plenty of medical studies concerning it have been accumulated over a long period of time. The different wavelengths of LED and their effects on skin have been looked into. Different colours have different wavelengths.
Not all of the LEDs on the market have therapeutic effects, so it is not a good idea to go looking for a revitalising LED in the local shop. The LED devices used at clinics and beauty salons are medical devices with research backing them up.
LED treatments are used mainly for skin revitalisation (red light) and acne treatments (blue light). Rosacea and pigmentation changes can also be treated with LEDs.
The treatments are completely painless, and you can go back to your ordinary life immediately after undergoing them. It is recommended to take the treatments serially in order to obtain the best and most long-lasting results. The lengths of the treatment series vary between 3 to 8 treatments once every 1 to 2 weeks, according to indication.
We will write more about the treatment of skin problems with LEDs later, so stay tuned.
